ABOUT TIK 📝

History isn’t as boring as some people think, and my goal is to get people talking about it. I also want to dispel the myths and distortions that ruin our perception of the past by asking a simple question - “But is this really the case?”. I have a 2:1 Degree in History and a passion for early 20th Century conflicts (mainly WW2). I’m therefore approaching this like I would an academic essay. Lots of sources, quotes, references and so on. Only the truth will do.

This video is discussing events or concepts that are academic, educational and historical in nature. This video is for informational purposes and was created so we may better understand the past and learn from the mistakes others have made.

As far as I can work out. This Stalingrad series has been running for over 24 hours at least. And we've only just reached the start of the encirclement of the 6th Army. Learnt a lot more from this series than I ever could have in a class room.

TIK. Your service has been invaluable.

Another great stalingrad episode. But don't feel pressured to put out the next at the expense of yourself. This is incredible content worth waiting for

In 20/20 hindsight, the best chance to save the 6th army was to retreat immediately. However, in reality, no one would retreat based on past experience and then current available information.

You are quite unique in that you not only explain what happened, you also demonstrate a fact that almost every other history channel overlooks, Historic events are often anything but Certain, we often either lack information or what information we do have is unreliable. The fact that you display your sources and acknowledge when something is uncertain is a breath of fresh air.

Don't worry people. I'm sure Manstein's counter attack will succeed and Moskow will be taken by summer.

The missing reference to the 7, 5 cm PaK characteristics is probably Ian V. Hogg: German Artillery of World War Two

25:00 Actually adpating artillery to operational needs is something quite new, and later very important, for the Soviets.

Thanks as always for an extremely well-made and well-researched episode. As a historian (albeit of a very different time period) I especially appreciate our critical analysis of the sources as well as the literature!

Keep up the great work!

Another fine episode of discussion and revelation. Particularly insightful regarding the Romanian involvement and their valid contribution under the most difficult circumstances. Cheers TIK.

HEAT rounds and APCR require rare materials to make, namely copper and tungsten which Germany was in short supply. The allies of Germany were largely given cast off equipment so HEAT rounds being lacking wouldn't surprise me, the Romanians actually having the shells would show the supply situation had actually improved.

Aaah yes, another Stalingrad Battlestorm episode. Or as I like to call it: "the more or less monthly Christmas present on mondays"

TIK I wish a game developer would collaborate with you and other historians to create a really detailed and realistic war strategy game. I think that every time I see your maps and unit plates.

Yey, it’s Monday. Let’s see what TIK has posted!
I never expected I would watch someone moving squares around on a map for some 36 episodes and be fascinated every time, but I absolutely LOVE your videos and a small fee for being a patreon is well spent.

TIK is excellent! I love the hearing and understanding the little details of each day's fighting of this battle. It's all relevant and makes me feel like I'm "in the moment".
