Watching the movement of the planets gave me a new perspective for the first time, realizing that my horizon is not in the same plane as the orbits of the planets.

All the Very Best to you too Tre'espire! You're so Absolutely right regarding the obvious awareness that the Night Sky view, & the thoughted (and in the same time quite accurate) Orbitual Plane of our Solar System's planets really do differ a lot from our Horizontal line up here in Sweden! I've also come to believe that it was surely a strong cause why that I already as a very tiny little boy, came to develop a Truly strong fascination for Space & Science; as our Night skies are so dark & clear!

Hello Tobbe, thanks for that bit of knowledge regarding the name of the Ecliptical Plane or the Ecliptican I did not know that.
I live near the 30 degree parallel where it's not offset by very much. I suppose living in northern Europe one might develop an acute awareness of the fact that the horizon is very much offset to the Earth's rotation & to the Eclitican. All the best Tre'espire in Israel.

Yes; it's true and that's quite a revolving and in the same time mindcatching experience the very first time that you realize this clear, but in the same time very logical fact - The plane of (most) of our Solar System's Planets is - if I can recall it correctly right now - called and/or referred to as 'the Ecliptican', or the 'Ecliptical plane'.

If you're not sure, just download "stellarium". It's a free and awesome astronomy program.
You can set your location and the date/time and you will see exactly what is visible in the sky from where you live.
