I’m not gonna lie, I’m starting to grow on the Civ VII era specific Civs. Because Civs fundamentally aren’t the same as previous titles. We don’t just have China throughout the entire game, we can start out as the Han. We can probably go from Rome, to France, to the Normans. (That’s just a guess, but I’m probably not too far off.) These cultures aren’t what you’d usually think of as Civs in previous games, but they’re foundational in the formation of what would become the nations we know today. I no longer think Firaxis is trying to make Humanity 2, I think they’re trying to really drive home what the definition of a Civilization really is.
