Показать описание
The Bouchard Brothers were original co-founders of Blue Öyster Cult and part of the creative force that drove their amazing recording career at Columbia Records in the 1970s and 1980s. Songs like Don’t Fear the Reaper, Burnin’ for You, and more, feature Joe and Al’s driving rhythms that made those hits classics for all time.
Albert and Joe come from a musical family and have been playing together for over five decades. They started out in a small town in upstate New York, playing dances and shows even before they were teenagers. Their success continued through high school winning the local Battle of the Bands against several better known groups. Eventually Albert teamed up with his college guitarist, later to be known as Buck Dharma, and moved to Long Island, and started the band known as Soft White Underbelly. With the addition of Albert’s brother Joe they changed their name to the now iconic Blue Öyster Cult. After a successful audition for Columbia’s Clive Davis, they were signed to a very successful album deal that has yielded nine gold and two platinum records to their credit.
In recent years Albert and Joe have each released multiple solo albums, and recorded many albums with other bands that have garnered across-the-board critical praise. Joe and Albert’s current project is a band called Blue Coupe that includes Dennis Dunaway, a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and a founder of the Alice Cooper group. They tour in France, England and Canada as well as do tours across the United States.
This performance at the Boulton Center will include semi-acoustic versions of the hit songs of Blue Öyster Cult, solo songs, and more. Joe and Al will perform original songs like Astronomy, Sinful Love, and Death Valley Nights which are much-loved deep tracks from Blue Öyster Cult’s gold and platinum albums. They will also reveal insider stories and secrets behind their phenomenal success in the music business. They will be joined by Norman Prusslin, Stony Brook music professor, who will moderate a live Q&A with the audience. Joan Levy Hepburn is an experienced blues guitarist who studied guitar for years with the legendary Dave Van Ronk. In recent years she has adapted her style to the silky tones of a Fender Stratocaster and dived deep into the Blue Öyster Cult catalog to prepare for these performances.
