Today we’re talking with the CEO of Vet Voice Janessa Goldbeck about the film War Game a documentary based on a real life war game set on January 6, 2025 that imagines a nationwide insurrection, in which members of the US military choose to defect in order to support the losing presidential candidate and what the current president and his team, would do. I’m talking about this film because the scenario addressed has a real possibility of playing out after the 2024 election, and the people at the Vet Voice Foundation, including 3 former Generals, and former senior officials from the last five presidential administrations wanted to be sure we were as prepared as possible for what happens if the candidate who loses the election refuses to concede, and if part of our military joins them.

I was shocked to hear from my enlisted, and then Naval Academy, son that Fox News played non-stop in military bases while he was in the service. It contributed to turning my now 24yo son into a Maga guy. 😢

I think it is so important to address how we are handling information and what we are putting out into the world. Recently, I realized how important it is to say things like "I saw this, but I don't know how true it is" if I am sharing information that I only received from one source. And I then try to back it up with more sources. For instance, if I see something about a celebrity or a movie or something, I might tell my husband that I saw this article, but I don't know how true it is. We cannot force everyone else in the world to do what we want, but we can control our own actions and responses.
