Tiger explaining what it was like getting to play at a CC after growing up on munis really does take me back. Growing up in the mid-90's watching Tiger play these beautiful courses I could only dream of playing and here I am, a 6-9 year old boy taking my first "job" at the par 3 course that butted up against my apartments and could only be described in the best words as a goat ranch, power washing golf carts in the morning and around noon every day during the summers so that the owner would let me play as much free golf as I wanted. Obviously I took advantage of that and was summarily fired for not washing golf carts but instead either being out on the course playing or hitting balls at the range. I used to play about 54 holes of golf a day on that little par 3 track and no matter how bad the conditions were, I would never complain because every shot I took, I was trying to be Tiger. Imagining thousands of people all around me as I tee'd it up on hole 1 when the only crowd noise to be heard were the saws and forklifts in the Porter's Ace Hardware lumber yard right next to hole 1. Imagining water where there was no water so I could try to hit a tee shot like TPC Sawgrass No 17 to the island green. Putting balls out on one of the only undulated greens on that course so I could emulate holing putts at Augusta then throwing my zip up hoodie on as if it were a Green Jacket. I don't think anyone has in the past or will in the future bring the amount of excitement, intrigue, creativity, shot making, clutch moments, growth, or sustained excellence that Tiger managed to bring to the game of golf. My father and grandfather introduced me to the game, Tiger hooked me to it. And to this day, 25 or 26 years later, I'm still just as hooked as that little 6 year old boy with a little junior half set that even still was too big for me. Those days will forever be some of my greatest memories, I'm sure there are thousands, tens of thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands who grew up as little ones in the 90's doing the same thing and all of us have Tiger to thank for that. That's why despite how much people want to hate on Tiger for decisions he's made in his past I always remind myself, he's just a human, those things will happen, but no one will ever be able to take from me what a young late teens early twenties Tiger Woods managed to give me on those crab grass filled, bare spot ridden, hard as rock fairway runups and greens on the little par 3 course a stones throw away from my run down apartments I grew up in.

I've golfed the Navy course Tiger is referring to many times, it's a great course, honor to share it with Tiger's memories.

Had a black Nike cap when I was a junior. Got a red Nike top now. The guy is an inspiration.

Tiger is the reason myself and so many others love the game of golf. He’s bigger than the sport. There are very few people you can say that about. Nothing like a charge on the back 9 in Sunday red.

Single handedly revolutionized the game of golf to what it is today and what it will forever be. There has only been 2 people in the world to do something this impactful and it’s Tiger and Jordan. Magnetic aura

Jack may hold the Majors record, but no one ever impacted the game like Tiger. No one's inspired more than Tiger. And arguably, Tiger has had more incredible wins, moments and tournaments than even Jack had.

And I grew up at the tale end of Jack's career, since he was my dad's fave. But Tiger is a once in a millennia athlete.

Every generation has one player who was better than anybody else.
Tiger Woods is the only single person who *BROKE* golf.
It's also wonderful to hear him praise so many of his successors here.

I don’t think we will see another guy like tiger for a while, it was new school versus old school, and now everybody has caught up. There’s not as much room for innovation.

Win or lose it was Tiger Woods who really got me interested in watching not playing golf because of his precision and making those defying ball sinking into the hole. It's like watching Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers throwing the football knowing they'll connect with the intended target.

I think he could win another major on a course where length is not a factor but rather a good short game. Would be nice to have major like that too.

The guys that have won here have hit their irons the correct distance. Got to have that different mindset to be great.
