Above the sink, it looks like the vertical grout lines are not consistent with the rows below/above. Is that so?

I haven't seen anyone tuck the backsplash tiles under the upper cabinets before. Is this common in a new or remodel where you will be hanging new cabinets. I would be interested in hearing more about it. I'm assuming you put a spacer/standoff at the top so the cabinets hang plumb. Would you ever hang the cabinets AFTER the backsplash if you intended to do this? Curious about your comments.
