Omg... this is what my host mom used to make!! I recognize the box from when she embarrassingly she showed me after I'd said it was my favorite dinner 😂😂

I actually made this without the cream stew roux. Melt butter in the pan and add in flour, cooking it into the butter until it becomes a paste and then whisk in heavy cream. Make sure to stesm the carrots, chicken, and brocolli before adding them in. If you're having trouble with it thickening, you can also add a bit of cornstarch at a time. Add in teaspoon intervals and let the stew boil a bit. Cornstarch turns it thick fast, so don't add a bunch all at once. Happy cooking ^^

The roux is mostly made with AP flour but potato/corn starch mixed with cold water and then evenly added to hot soup will have the same effect/make it thicker if you do not have access to pre-made cubes like these :)

If you keep a basic pantry, you already have the ingredients to make these. You can even freeze them in an ice cube mold if you want to make a big batch. Melt butter in a skillet/frypan, add enough flour to make a paste. Cook it, moving it around the skillet, to remove the taste of flour from it.

Its easy to make a flour roux, but an easier, faster way to cheat is to dissolve some corn starch in water, for a half cup of water had a quarter cup of starch. Make sure it's cold water. Then pour it in. It'll thicken. You can always add more starch, just always stir in cold water before putting in cooking food.

tips : if you dont have this product just add chinese slurry into it you just need to mix corn starch and add a lil bit water after that mix it into your stew

I mean it’s not really a Japanese invention since it been in the invented many years before. It’s kind of invention where it’s could be made in anywhere at some point in time we don’t know the earliest. Chinese and European have made it at some point. Innovation is more accurate since it’s widespread in japan
