About a month ago we picked up our brand new 2022 Subaru WRX and of course the first thing we've got to do is cross-check those power numbers with our dyno! We're super excited to hear everyone's thoughts and opinions on the new platform and we can't wait to share ours as well.

Have a WRX or STI and looking for parts?

How on Earth did a BRZ post the same whp? It's down 43 hp to the WRX.

75 more torque. For anyone who has ever raced a car on a track or drag strip they would know that is a huge difference. Horsepower sells cars and torque wins races.

it's crazy how expensive it is. Same price of a STI before covid

dyno #s are way low most 2022 wrx dynos are 245-255whp that car is broken 😂

Nice video. You should not worry about bs like wheel arches or bumpers, but start to worry about making performance parts like Access port and downpipe, headers, and how you will by pass strict emission laws these days...

I'm really excited to see how this car fares compared to the BRZ, both are the only two cars I'm considering buying, and the ability to have fun on the track is important to me. Also, it's going to be a good time once tuning is available for this car. I have little doubt 260-280whp / 300wtq could be done on 93 octane.

I was very iffy about the new wrx until I saw it in person, it looks great! Definitely just not a very photogenic car for whatever reason

I'd rather tuners keep the cladding on the WRX and focus on performance instead of dropping the car, painting the fenders, and eliminating the offroad functionality and uniqueness of this car.

They definitely didn’t make the same power lol. 220 HP @ 175 TQ is a world of difference from 224 HP @ 250 TQ. You could say they “make similar horsepower figures.” But they definitely don’t make the same power if the curves are entirely different.

Nah would rather get 2021 wrx sti not the new plastic wrx tf.

Well on the track it's not really about peak horsepower anymore tho. It's a shame that you didn't show the dyno graph. Pretty sure the wrx makes more power everywhere, and the factory just tapers it off on the top end.

I feel like a tune can push it close to 300whp. Where the brz, needs a lot more work to stay NA in order to get more power.

Comparable to the BRZ? Stupid statement. There was something like 75ft lbs difference. Comparable? 😂

This car side profile looks disgusting. Whoever approved that should be fired asap

Ability to increase to 375hp and 380+Tq, would be great. I have one on order and it’s coming in September. Excited to get my hands on it.
Definitely needs some spoiler/wing options. And those Civic tail lights.

So the figures are a lot lower than what Subaru published. What gives?

Those numbers are much lower than the dozens of other numbers I've seen.

The new wrx runs 12psi to outmuscle the old wrx that needed 19psi. This will be a super tuner car, bigger displacement low boost engine.
