Donald Duck – Trick or Treat (1952) – original RKO titles

This is the original opening and closing titles to the 1952 Disney cartoon Trick or Treat, scanned from a 16mm IB Technicolor print. There are several differences compared to the Buena Vista reissue: In addition to the RKO Radio Pictures line under the Donald Duck logo, there are also pans between each title – and an animated paintbrush finishing the title card.

I remembered that on the real story of Halloween, there's a clip from this cartoon. And on Disney plus, this Donald Duck cartoon is on the Halloween list of movies and cartoons.

I remember this cartoon and it's on Walt Disney presents and Disney plus. But if you watch the DVD of The Black Cauldron, it's a bonus cartoon. And to the walt Disney cartoon classics video it's the final one on the video Halloween Haunts. But on the video Donald's name and face is purple.

If I would have known, back in 2017, that this little thing would get 100, 000 views, I would have stabilized the picture and edited away that little jump at 0:15.

Wow! Great find! I already liked how the credits of this short were different from the usual "burlap" backgrounds for the Halloween theming, but this is definitely more lively, especially with the paintbrush painting the title.

I wonder why they went through the trouble of removing the pans for reissue. Doesn't it cost money to do additional editing?
