I bought a 2002 Porsche boxter a few years ago and was recommended to factor in an extra £2k for mechanical problems. That turned out to be on the conservative side, and I actually spent £3.5k getting it through the MOT. Lovely car in the dry, an absolute bar steward in the wet!

Great Video and choice for the top car. The 3.0i z4 manual really is a seriously capable and great car. The m54 b30 doesnt have any issues with valve stem seals. Never has done. Its most likely Bmw's most reliable straight six naturally aspirated motor ever made. The good ones are going to start climbing in price now.

Great video… some cracking cars out there for £5k or so really. The Z4 still looks great today.

I am biased because I’ve had two but you missed the MK1 SEAT Leon Cupra R ;) Tuned towards 300bhp, great great fun. Tracked mine and was brilliant. A VW/Audi just cheaper and better looking.

Could literally swap my car for this entire list. I only have 1 parking space, but if I had 10...that is a lot of fun. The Clio, Boxster and MX-5 would be all you need really, although the MR2, QV and ST are also pretty tasty.

Edit: Extra thought- you've done loads of these kinds of videos which are great. Since they give younger drivers car ideas with a little advice on stuff like reliability, maybe a more detailed look at ownership of specific cars that come up regularly in the list might be some good info? Just a thought- could do some mini owner's guides on fun cars for younger drivers, stuff like an NA MX-5 ☺

Had my Alfa Romeo Mito QV Cloverleaf for 2 years now & loving every day with it. ULEZ for London, cheap insurance like you say & a lot of fun to drive in Dynamic mode with a nice sound too 👌🏼
