Lieutenant Tony Greville Bell (australian member of the SAS) did indeed break a few ribs and hurt his back on a hard parachute landing around Bologna. The series gives him a cameo here but he walked 250 miles back to Allied lines with those injuries. His march and short vacation at a mansion in Fiesole were given to Jonny Tonkin, but he did some other crazy stuff, like taking his sergeant and a resistance fighter into a cantina full of German Soldiers to have a beer AFTER blowing up a train

I cracked a rib one Saturday and in the hospital waiting room, got talking to two other patients. One said she had broken her ankle playing hockey, the young man said he had injured his wrist after a fall playing basketball. I lied about my injury as there was no way I could tell them the truth, that I had cracked my rib reaching over the arm of an armchair for the TV remote control.

I broke 3 ribs back in 2017 and my daughter(7 at the time) found my reaction to laughter hilarious, so she proceeded to do everything in her power to make me laugh, it hurt like hell! 😂😂

I ended up having two ribs fractured, and Afghanistan, still went on patrols and did my job and it hurt like a SOB. And then around 2 to 3 months later, I got blown up and re-injured my ribs and shit hurt to breathe so I know that if this guy’s got these bad broken ribs, he must be Hurting a hell of a lot more than I did.

SAS still get on with the job even in pain. True SAS. Love this programme.

That sound is called crepitation and is produced when (obviously) bones scratch on each other. I‘m a paramedic and you will never be able forget that sound after hearing it for the first time.

Reaching across with the opposite arm, feels like he was waiting all day for someone to ask.
