One night while I was still a kid, this song came on the radio and my dad was so happy and he sang all along and when the song was over he told us the story behind it. I was so very young and that memory should be long lost but here I am in 2021.

The song reminds me of a girl (my fiance) long ago in mid 80's her name was Smiso Buthelezi living at Mkuze (in South Africa KwaZulu) she was beautiful inside and outside very humble women, the story is I loved her but it took almost a year to convince her how much I loved her, she left me with a vacuum that no one could fill it up, it was difficult to accept that she was no more, she died in hospital. My her soul rest in peace.

I adore Smokie since my early childhood. In my country they were more popular then Beatles. My brother went to the army and left me home his big tape recorder just with one tape. On the one side was country music, on the other Smokie. I was listening to it 24/7.
