ULTRA RUNNING - Pushing Beyond Your Limits

This may be obvious, but running isn't easy, but it's something everyone can do. One becomes a runner by running. The pain in your ligaments and joints are signs you are becoming a runner.

This was Kris Bertagnolli's first ULTRA, but will it be his last? Follow along as he goes from start to finish in a grueling battle with the trail, and himself.

I love how Kris explained what he was going through and how he got through on the other side. I've started down the road of long distance walking and just recently my body was telling me I could go faster - it wanted to, but I have this narrative that keeps telling me "I'm not a runner". So the part of this video I found very helpful, is where he says how your body isn't ready to run, but if you're consistent it can get there. Thanks for the motivation.

As Kris’s coach and a student of the sport…running will change your life for the better if you let it. Yes, like with anything moderation is key. You have to listen to your body and take days off or cross train. Starting out slow and building up slow allow your body to adapt. The human body is amazing. It will adapt. That being said, some bodies are made to run and some aren’t. Some training programs work and some don’t. That’s why I personalize plans for everyone. Surprisingly for the first few weeks or months, I coach people to walk as much as run. Just getting people out and creating systems/habits for people to move their bodies is the most important!

Awesome to see a relatable running video. So much content on YouTube is people running paces the average person can’t fathom. This video reminds me of my runs! 😅

Amazing video bro!! Very well done. This needs to be a T-Shirt. "I met the devil and Jesus at the same time"- Ultrarunner. Whoever trained you gave you amazing advice!! To go slow slow to let your joints and such catch up. As weird as it sounds your cardo system is the fastest to adapt but if you outgrow your joints and ligaments it's all bad. Seen it way too many times. As someone who has suffered horribly from blisters in the past....that one was a doozie. Very glad you were able to keep going with it:)
