As someone from the kind of places that actually value a Land Cruisers reliability, owning a Land Cruiser is like having life insurance. In the Middle East or Africa or South East Asia, the people that own Bentleys or G Wagons or anything expensive ALL have Land Cruisers, literally all of them. They all get Land Cruisers to go along with whatever else they buy and it outlasts everything else.

Spends the whole video talking about how it's good off-road. Never goes off-road.

Kinda missing the point. The beauty of a LC is that in 10 years time that car will still drive exactly the same as it does now. The steering will still be a bit vague but nothing has broken, the engine will still be noisy but it will still work perfectly. LC are built to last, take years of abuse without needing much love and attention and start first time to do exactly what it’s supposed to do.

That it, simple as that

I fully understand & appreciate the significance of a Land Cruiser. This particular video did NOT send that message clearly enough. It got lost in the Land Cruiser’s “faults & charms”. This story could’ve been storyboarded better.

I never paid much attention to Land Cruisers. I’ve been in the back of Land Rovers and Ranger Rovers countless times and they are good very good, but I was completely shocked at the 15 year old Land Cruiser I went in back in the summer whilst on holiday in Montenegro.

This thing was 7 up, pulling a big trailer with rafting equipment in it, and it went up these steep gravel tracks from the river up the second biggest canyon in the world with so little fuss whilst blowing a cool 18C on the air conditioning whilst ambient temp was over 30C. Such a well engineered car.

I've never heard a Prado referred to as collosal or huge....its no bigger then a Ranger Rover, which the UK is filled with.

It’s a land cruiser prado … not the same as the land cruiser 300 … please correct your technical mentioning cuz when u say land cruiser it typically means the big LC300

Spends 10 minutes describing how big the car is like a student trying to reach the minimum word count, says its a terrible car until it goes off road, doesn't even go off road in the video, then describes it like a shoe. This isn't Carfection quality journalism.

it's actually Land Cruiser Prado. Not an original Land Cruiser. King of reliable off-roaders

I sold cars for Toyota and the biggest problem with Landcruisers is that they don’t break and owners keep them until they finally fall apart. Getting hold of a low mileage used example was so hard. If you want one and find one in a dealership, buy it

That's not a real land cruiser, that's a Prado.... The 300 series is a beast! I've had a 150 series D4d, taken it to Cape York Peninsula, regular trips to Fraser Island, towed a caravan, commuted and travelled all across Australia. All I've replaced is consumables and a clock sping for the horn! Plus right now, after 12 years it's still worth almost half of what I paid. It's not the best, but it's very good overall.

That is a Prado not a real Landcruiser such as the LC200 or 300

Recently traveled to the Arabian peninsula, (vacation) rented a Land Cruiser, done some desert/dune driving, serious mountain off-roading, and general wild exploring, and oh boy I was stunned how impressive the vehicle was! 300.000 miles on clock not a single rattle or squeak. Yes is wobbly on the highway and snaking under hard braking, but compared of how capable is in a given geographic conditions any other cars is a joke.

That’s a Prado to the rest of the world and definitely not the most massive Toyota 😂
The real land cruiser is larger comparable to Lexus’s biggest SUV and the biggest Toyota SUV is a Sequoia

When it comes to build quality, reliability and durability the Land Cruiser is the far better than the Defender.
But If you're never gonna go off-road and only drive in the city on road, than the Defender will be better. The Defender has 4 wheel independent suspension and monocoque chassis which is a lot more modern than the solid axle/IFS and body on frame chassis of the Land Cruiser. My choice would be the Land Cruiser despite it riding not as good as the Defender on the road.

What was this all about? Land cruisers are made for desserts, woods and terrain not many can handle. It's not made for asphalt at all. And yet, the only thing you babbled about was how terrible it is on the road. Of course it is. It's made perfect outside the road!!!! *angry face*

The range rover and defender are longer and wider than the land cruiser prado. You don't see British motoring journalists complain so much abt them

Cool car :D, but with Toyota's recently performance cars, I honestly forgot about this 4x4 😅. I feel the Land Cruiser would be more likely to be taken off road nowadays than Defenders or G-classes because it's still focused on mainly off-road work 👍.

That's a Prado, not the real LandCruiser like LC200 or new LC300.

Did it occur to carfection to actually try and drive it off-road?
