1971 Plymouth HemiCuda Convertible 4-Speed Muscle Car Of The Week Video Episode #193

Is this the most sought-after Muscle Car ever made? Chrysler workers only put 11 of these Hemicuda convertibles together back in ‘71, and the breakdown of options and colors puts this as one of 2 US delivered cars that were built with the 426 Hemi V8 and 4-speed manual transmission. From The Brothers Collection.

In the late 80’s, I worked for John Book garage in Wv. He set some IHRA records in that car in the early 70’s. I remember when you sat in the drivers seat on the back of the shaker it said “Think” I thought that was so John Book. He was half owner in the mid 90’s and I remember when I visited him he told me he sold the car for $250K He though he made out like a bandit. I wish he was about to see the car now. He died about four years ago. He was the smartest and nicest man ever.

I drove this car and worked on it for years. I have worked for Milton Robson for 20 plus years.

00:58 ...that is probably the coolest looking car this world has ever, or will ever see!

It's absolutely perfect! Gorgeous car. The color combination is one of my favourite. I love it. Thank you and I look forward to watching your other videos.

Nice burnout in a multi million dollar car. Who is the lucky guy who gets to drive these cars and how do I get his job?

I'm a GM guy, but my god this car is cool. I always thought the 68, 69 GTO front ends were by far the coolest looking...but the 71 Cuda's are just as cool!

What you are viewing is an EXTREMELY RARE car. Only 2 in this configuration. No wonder it goes for several millions--which I call "stupid money." It is the holy grail of Chrysler Motor Cars. It could nearly sell for its weight in GOLD. It's about a 3700 lb car.

Very cool car. It would be interesting to see an episode dedicated to all 11 of them! Like a quick over view of the history of each and how they differ.

Those elephant/fish hybrids sure do growl! '71 'cuda's have always been my favorite mopars, but I prefer the coupes over convertibles.

You mentioned a "hotter hemi" was swapped in at some point, but was the original hemi swapped back in afterwards?

It's crazy to think these are just run of the mill assembly line cars with really cool parts, not handmade, finely tuned exotic sports cars, even though they sell for far more money. This is by far the top of the pyramid. Oh yeah, lose the watermark, y'all.

Sure it is "painfully" incredible, the big amount of these mopar muscle cars, not equipped with a tachometer.

So, how many of the original Hemi Cuda/Challenger convertibles does the Brother's collection have now? It's gotta' be four or five...

I'd much rather have the Hardtop, but Kevin I'll take this monster drop top if you feel like sending it my way
