Now selling homemade beaver tail prints and all proceeds goes towards taking care of orphaned beavers.

Anyone wanting to support our efforts can do so at the following links. Thank you!!

This beaver is being raised by wildlife rehabbers after being orphaned as a newborn. Her parents were killed and their dam and lodge destroyed. Beavers are classified as nuisance animals in many US states and can be killed anytime. Beavers need to spend 2 years with their human rehabbers. They need to have lots of opportunities to practice instinctive behaviors. This beaver enjoys playing this game inside the house but lives with the other orphaned beavers outside most of the time. We hope you fall in love ! This misunderstood and unique species needs lots of it!

If you want to make donations towards our wildlife rescue fund, it’s called Woodside Wildlife Rescue. Every penny helps.

He does not complain. He works with what he has.

Occasionally he just stops and has an existential crisis. I love this little guy.

You can take a beaver from the river, but you can't take the river out of the beaver. That is some impressive workmanship.

Rescued as a newborn and she still does dam construction like a pro. Impressive!

I like how he stands up and looks at it for a second after moving each object like “yes this is right this works here”

I love how he's just hardwired to build a dam...and esp. admire his human family for letting him do his thing.❤️

That is one of the most amazing displays of instinctive behaviour. No river, no water, no logs, but still building a dam out whatever is available. It's truly amazing.

Awww ...She's trying so hard to build the perfect Hallway Dam. Just in case of a flash flood. God bless her intelligent little self. She's brilliant.

I genuinely laughed out loud when I saw the tree shuffling down the hallway! 😆

I love how when the stuffed dog falls down he just pauses and is somewhat disgusted.

I need to be like this beaver. You know they picked all of this stuff up later when he was done. And he'll wake up the next day, see the dam gone, and be like "alright time to build another one" without even flinching or getting mad. Pure grind-set. Doesn't get paid for it, no one's forcing him to do it, will be sheltered and provided for regardless of whether he builds or not. But it's written into his DNA that he's gotta build, and nothing's going to stop him from it. I need that mentality when I go into work.

It's incredible how they never lose their inherent nature despite being in a completely different environment

As a Canadian I used to feel embarrassed that beavers are our national animal, especially in comparison to "cooler" animals like the British Lion or the American Eagle...but I've come to love it...they are such amazing little animals, and so important to the environment!

Don't know why but I found this very touching. The beaver does what beavers do and her wonderful owner lets her! What a story.

Each additional piece she selects has me rolling. The flip flop! Omgosh she is precious and very skilled at her craft.

Bless this beautiful creature. He's only doing what comes naturally, and I'm so happy the humans didn't interrupt him while he was working very hard. He was very methodical and put all of the pieces together very orderly.

Utterly amazing how animals are born with certain instincts that even when separated from their parents at an early age where they could not have had time to learn these skills that even in a house they are driven to "dam" up the hallway. Nature is both a mystery and a miracle.

One can really see where the expression "busy as a beaver" came from! I love the doll's legs sticking out, like in The Wizard of Oz!
And the parrot gabbing in the background! Cutest damn dam ever, from a beautiful creature!
