I was raised primarily by my father from age 6 until I left the house at 17. He is the epitome of OCD and “if you have to do something, no matter what it is, do it right.”. That included mundane chores or needs around our tiny little apartment. We didn’t have much, but we kept that place spotless and I was proud even when friends would come over to hang out on our 1 love seat couch and 13” Mitsubishi TV/VCR combo. Today, I’ve been married to the same woman for 27 years…I do most of the daily chores…absolutely willingly, often redoing any help my beautiful wife might give 😂 because of MY OCD😂…she came from a large family that did not practice housecleaning as a weekly ritual, but instead when company was coming over😂 Opposites attract? Anyhow, good on you for highlighting the small stuff…at the end of the day, the practice makes a bigger impact than we think.
