Xiaomi 13 Ultra vs iPhone 14 Pro Max Camera Shootout: Closer Than Expected

I took the Xiaomi 13 Ultra and iPhone 14 Pro Max and snapped a bunch of photos all around Shanghai. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra's cameras are headlined by a Sony IMX989 1-inch sensor with a variable aperture between f/1.9 and f/4. The iPhone 14 Pro Max meanwhile has a 48MP main camera with a 1/1.28-inch image sensor.

Hey Ben. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra does have an AF module. It's between the main and ultrawide, and is at the very top. Under sunlight, you can see two faint circle cutouts. It's the dTOF.

Hey Ben! Idk if it's your setting but I have seen other 13 ultra camera app with the aperture toggle on the view finder, where you can switch just by pressing on it.

Apple samsung and google "knows" what an average consumer wants in an everyday reliable point n shoot camera - social-media ready photographs/videos. I'm happy Xiaomi is taking a more mature approach to photography, kinda like what Sony is doing
