After all this time, I finally get it. For so long, was puzzled by the lyrics:

And now, seeing it paired with Spinel’s story, I finally get it. It’s about breaking the trauma cycle. Being a victim of abuse doesn’t give you an excuse to be an abuser yourself. You have the *choice* to continue the trauma cycle or finally put an end to it.
