Rudyard Lynch: This Is How a Second Civil War Will Start

Rudyard Lynch, host of “WhatIfAltHist” on YouTube, explains why he believes that the United States is on the verge of a second civil war. Drawing on economic and social patterns from history, Rudyard highlights key factors that have created a perfect storm of potential triggers for unrest in America. While many envision a civil war as chaotic and all-encompassing—and therefore dismiss the possibility as too far-fetched—he paints a subtler picture of what this conflict would look like, with everyday life continuing amid a fraying social fabric.

It's hard to start a Civil War with people who check their phones every 30 seconds and think the electricity going out for one hour is a major tragedy.

I never put a time on it but in the 2010s, I started worrying that we had lost any national consensus. I kept thinking with no shared values, or historical narrative "the center can not hold."

Did he say he was 11 when Obama was president. That explains alot what has he been through. Sometimes you have to be in the trenches to see something coming.

It's always of interest hear Rudyard's observations, the cost of living during the great Depression was in fact quite low, having said that, there was no currency/money regardless of the low cost. The depression inflicted extreme degradation into the lives of millions of people not only in America but around the northern hemisphere. Life is not a systematic mechanical equation, cycle and pattern prophets are more wrong than right.

Actually, Alex Jones has been correct on nearly EVERYTHING he has claimed, with SOME EXCEPTIONS big and small

To dismiss him in that way shows me not only that you aren't paying attention, but you won't admit when you're PROVEN wrong, and therefore your credibility is lacking.

I suggest if you are a academic middle class office working male. Well I would watch my mouth around working class males. Shaming rallying and gossiping is a bish tactic.

I usually like your guests, but this one is an obnoxious know-it-all who sounds like a walking Reddit post.

"I use a combination of intuition and empiricism." That's called judgement, and it's pretty much universally how people make predictions. It's not special.

Please go back to having people with actual substantial experience and justified intuition on your show, not little kids with a doomsday fetish.

living is but 1 problem, and not the biggest. The Catcher In The Rye describes a situation where youth has no idea where to find MEANING in their lives, and it’s gotten worse with recent generations. That’s why we see them bandwagoning on any case, despite the nonsense of it. when you have a bunch of youth with no meaning, then you have a powder keg ready to explode, even if only for a purpose and change from meaninglessness. They blame society, and rightfully so.

Most of the points mentioned were not unique to the US but global. Canada has having a major real estate crisis right now and Japan's debt to GDP ratio is trouble (263% as of 2023). What makes the US situation all that different?

He developed his theory with empirical and "intuitive" clues. This guy doesn't have the intuition to pour piss out of a boot.
