Magnificent home - beautiful touch of a little 70's, 80's, and 90's atmosphere ... very cozy, relaxing, outdoor and indoor beauty ... love it 💖💜

What a lovely home - a stark contrast to the beige and grey spaces of today.

Fabulous, as always. So lovely. I do chuckle at "tone down the floral quotient." Yet Oscar's words regarding gardens would seem to apply to our human relationships as well.

I had the good fortune of meeting him at Lake Tahoe one year.
What a charming gentleman and so good looking. I have s picture of us in my office. Since I’m an interior designer by profession, I understand all the little nuances and love it all. Love the video. Carol from California

Thanku " Cultured Elegance "...always informative..
Personally, the '90's period appeals more..a touch more restrained...less crowded..but obviously , each to their own.
I'm glad Annette decided to persevere with the house..it has good bones...the gardens, as u say, exquisite!!

I love the bones of the house; the grounds; and many individual pieces of furniture. However, I feel that the interiors were much too claustrophobic for my tastes (even after the 90's redo). Excellent video.

The 1980s style needed some editing. The opulence was wonderful to behold but not to live in daily for me. The grounds were superb.

I live in Kent. There is great natural beauty here and vistas that didn't need a master gardener to create timeless elegance.

I definitely like the 1990's what Mrs. Annette Reed did with the assistance of her interior designer and her fine taste which today is classical, ageless, and very elegant. One thing that must be corrected is the misspelled words describing what is being voiced out loud for all of us interior design aficionados and youtubers to enjoy and follow along. Thanks again for sharing this educational, cultured, elegant video of an American fashion designer Oscar De La Renta and his home.

I just love this home, the country grandeur is just exquisite. I must ask, how do you become so knowledgeable about interior design and history? Thank you 🥰✨

I love the grounds, the gardens, but the interiors😮😮😮…a headache, especially the 80s, Francoise’s era. Annette tried to edit the interiors a little in the 90s. However, both Annette and Francoise were of the same generation with similar influences and backgrounds, so their style we’re basically similar.

To me, the 1980's look by Fourcade was a cluttered mess. The only things I really liked were the bookcases De La Renta's 2nd wife had added & the vista of the rolling Litchfield Hills from the overly formal (imo) garden.
