So if anyone is actually curious, here’s why they are saying this:
So many animals like hippos, elephants, and probably others that aren’t coming to mind are to heavy to jump and get all 4 of their feet off the ground, this video is evidence that hippos can do this. I don’t know who’s calling it flight, but it is still very interesting because it implies that like hippos have stronger legs than we thought

Decently sure scientists claimed they can become briefly airborne but, some journalists decided to change it to fly in their articles because think about this, are you more likely to click on “Hippos can become briefly airborne” or “Hippos can fly”
