Fresh data from the Inter­national Monetary Fund (IMF) ­predicted that by 2020, the city would overtake oil-rich Qatar with the highest per-capita gross domestic product of any country or jurisdiction on earth. The IMF’s World Economic Outlook Update – published at the end of last month – expected ­that economic growth in the casino hub would see it leapfrog Qatar by 2020.

wealth is concentrated in only a handful of people. State treasury & banks may be full of surplus cash, but wht if Ur ppl doesn't own it. No proper schools & few academic institutions. Itz not even diverse economy. Main source being gambling & hospitality. Macau's political leadership should open their eyes & do something for itz people before itz too late.
