Показать описание
Day and night...
With short breaks around 3 am! Ever wondered why your cat's beauty sleep lasts so long?
Sleeping is a survival mechanism. Cats in the wild need a lot of sleep to save energy for the hunt.
Although domestic cats don’t need to hunt, this primal instinct to sleep and prep up for the next hunt still carries on.
So if your cat gets "the zoomies" during the twilight hours, you can just blame it on evolutionary genetics.
Over time, as they grew attached to humans, cats began to shift their sleeping cycles to match ours. It happens a bit slowly, though!
On the more distressing side of a cat's sleeping habits, they sleep when they are sick or otherwise in pain.
Cat nap is another famous thing cats do. So rather than really sleeping, they'll do their resting while covertly checking out the area.
Boredom is another reason cats sleep so much. Like us, they sometimes sleep the day away due to a lack of stimuli!
A quick fix is to give them something to play with or entertain them in some other way.
Another cause of long sleep may be stress and depression.
Stressed-out cats use resting and relaxing as a way to calm themselves down since anything else may be too much for them.
Elderly cats will normally have less energy and will sleep longer. So, old age may also be a reason why your cat sleeps so much.
