I’m really frustrated with the response to this app, because I feel really negatively about it. Making their own dedicated app, meaning that I can’t integrate any of those songs into my playlists on other platforms, means that I will never, ever use the app. I don’t listen to video game OST tracks super regularly, and they aren’t the kinds of albums you really listen to cover to cover. I’d also like to note that companies like Sega and Capcom among others put the OSTs to many of their games on Spotify, and have for a long time. Something that also bears mentioning is the paltry selection of games that are on the service currently. I think I counted nineteen right now, and that’s nothing. So many games not on this service right now, and with the speed at which Nintendo updates the other NSO services, I’m not confident there will be a lot more anytime soon.

Of course they don’t give credit to the original artist, Nintendo wants to be Nintendo, they want you to think of only Nintendo and nothing else.

If they don’t give credit to the artist, that means their customers won’t go somewhere else to look for their artist’s songs that aren’t Nintendo. edit: And nowhere can you see this more than the fact you don’t see the names of the artists on music products like Spotify or Shazam
