The Mystery of Animals and Earthquakes: Can They Really Predict Them?

Knowing things in advance has always been interesting for people -prophecies of Nostradamus, sixth sense.

What about the idea of predicting the coming of great disasters?

I wonder if they can hear the sound of fault lines moving in the depths of the Earth as we continue our daily lives.

The earliest reference to unusual animal behavior before a significant earthquake is from Greece in 373 BC.

Rats, weasels, snakes, and centipedes reportedly left their homes and headed for safety several days before a destructive earthquake.

One way is to feel a wave called a "P-wave."

This initial compression wave propagates rapidly and is followed by an "S-wave" or shear wave, the more significant wave we feel.

Studies have found that cows give less milk up to three weeks before the earthquake.

There are scientific reasons why animals can sense underground movement much earlier than humans.

The Icarus project is a large-scale study to reveal these scientific reasons, and it will help us in the connection between natural disasters and the feelings of animals.

Watch our video to learn all the causes and signs.

I mean a few seconds warning isn't alot, but I guess it's still something.

Science feels almost humiliated to reckon they do have such a skill.
I witnessed very unusual behavior in hens 12 hours before the 2009 quake in L'Aquila, Italy. In a beeline, my place is relatively close to the epicenter and what made it less destructive here was Mount Maiella just behind my house, although the shaking has been pretty intense.

Predicting? I think it's just their very sensitive senses.

This video is absurd. This is like listening to an economist who has two hands. "On the one hand...on the other hand..."

Ridiculous… your skeptical science… vs.. the superpowers of animals over man…

Is simply ridiculous…
