How are you finding the affordable tax deeds? Most of what I find either on the county site or lawyers working with the county starts at 10k+. I’ve reached out to a lot of counties and asked also about their OTC deeds but I’m not finding a lot of affordable stuff.

I am getting into this strategy, but what is the redemption period in your state? For people who do not know about redemptions, this means the owner has a period of time to pay of the property taxes and keep the property.

No this isn’t how it works. In most places the county puts it to a tax lien auction after the owner doesn’t pay you back with interest. If no one (including banks and hedgefunders who professionally compete for these properties) bids on the property then it’s defaulted to you. However the only properties that no one bids on are usually useless shitty pieces of land that you could never sell, leaving you stuck with a land you have to pay taxes on 😂. Usually what’s gonna happen to an average poor person is the person won’t pay you back and then you will proceed to get outbidded by the bank who also wants that same property. Tax leisn kind of suck tbh
