I wanted to create a sequel for Dystopia on its 1 year anniversary. Unfortunately as you can see that didn't happen. In fact it was so challenging that I gave up for awhile & had the idea on limbo... until now.
When creating a sequel, how does it live up to the original's standard? That thought has plagued me throughout the development of this project. Like it? Not so much? Feel free to let me know, I take all feedback into consideration. Yes even the not so positive ones.

In art, Dystopia looks terrific, in reality we all experience it, it is a continuous bargain with the wealthy and elite, merely getting by in most cases and worse in others, we buy pleasure to hide and sooth the pains we feel when we ultimately kill our own selves each day again and again. Resisting who we are, unaware of what is possible in a realm beyond the technologies we so worship as it is capable of divinity. But it alone is never and far from enough.

Great job; thank you, GoldPile. I write for a living, giving me the chance to have psychill/psybient running through my headphones several hours a day, every day. I'm crazy about the genre and I really appreciate your re-uploads of Spacemind's legendary mixes. I am a big fan of your "Dystopia" and revisit it once or twice each week. I think this is an EXCELLENT follow-up.

As a sort of spiritual sequel, I think it does a great job of upping the ante with increased dark melodrama- rather than trying to replicate exactly the atmosphere of the first, this mix is more dire, and I think it works so well. It's more brooding, which feels like a natural progression from the first mix. As a huge fan of Sundial Aeon, I loved 'Blue Flame' here - after a stressful and dark first half of the mix, with its pent-up anxiety, a little bit of upbeat action from Sundial Aeon was exciting. I think your inclusion of the Tripswitch track as a finale is intelligent; it's got this feeling of simultaneous angst but defiance, as if to say "yea, I'm stuck living in this late capitalist dystopian hellscape, I'm not happy about it but I'm not going to let it crush me." Thoughtful mix that I'll revisit often. Thanks again.
