I feel hes done some careful editing to sugarcoat his experience as hes probably fearful of being called antisemitic if he tells the truth of how awful this community is

I’m glad the comments know what’s up. As an Asian American, i was treated less like trash when I visited this area in 2019. I was told to leave a bookstore because I “don’t understand anything.” I was literally just minding my own business and looking through a book on display.

Back when I lived in Denver, I lived in near a hasidic Jewish community and remember being shunned and slightly affraid of them because of their clothing. One day I was sitting at the bus stop crying and this young Jewish boy totally broke protocol to ask me if I was okay. It really touched me. That was the only time I lived there that I was spoken to. I'll never forget his kindness.

They are not "the most religious" they are a specific ultraorthadox sect that doesn't make them more religious it makes them more fanatical. Lets start making the distinction clear.

These are the same people who fought the ban on child marriages in New Jersey and New York

Living in New York for most of my life, I can confidently say I have never felt more like trash when walking through this part of the city to learn more about the culture for a school project. Asking for help when I got lost was useless and I was either dismissed or glared at. Good lord...

I saw a two Catholic nuns (who wore the full, long habit) walking down the street. They passed by a Hasidic man and his young son. The Hasidic man turned his son’s head away from the nuns and then proceeded to spit on the ground as they passed. The nuns ignored this act and just kept walking. I admired these nuns for their peaceful demeanor after being treated this way.

Love how you try to make it a positive experience even though they clearly don't want to communicate with you.

It’s crazy how isolated they manage to be in such a large city

I’m a black guy. I had gotten sent there for work. It was easily one of the worst experiences of my life. I literally cried because I wanted to kick they’re asses but couldn’t cause I wouldn’t gotten fired and arrested obviously. They were the most hateful, nasty, racist people I’ve ever been around. Absolutely disgusting. That’s saying a lot me being from the south and I’m 40 years old. Makes me sick just thinking about the situation. The worst people ever.

I, an Italian New Yorker, actually got shunned when I went into this area. I got told that I was greasy and criminal. Super intolerant place.

Yeah, no. I grew up a few blocks away from their neighborhood, they are incredibly extremist and xenophobic to anything outside their small corner of the city. The only time they leave is strictly for business, and when they do so they do not talk to anyone and will cross the street to avoid you or deadass walk in the center of the street so they dont have to be next to anyone. In a city that never sleeps, theyre the only ones ive never had a conversation with because they refuse to do so

Isolated communities, not just these folks, are ground zero for abuse. Victims can’t go for help or they’ll be ostracized.

Not so fun fact, there's a lot of sexual abuse in their community that they do nothing about

He said " i am not welcomed which is very fascinating " lmao if it was some christains or muslims doing that it wouldn't be fascinating would it?

I lived in the thick of that neighborhood for 12 years. There was nothing wonderful. The children were abusive to my dog because God gave man dominion over the animals. They are rude to non-Jews, and the horror stories that I have heard from those who talked to me caused me to lose any respect for the religious facade. They use their back yards as dumps, or pave over the nature all together. One lady wanted to take my niece from be because “people like you don’t make babies like this.” My niece was blond with green eyes and white, and I’m tan with brown eyes. I wanted to buy from a ladies shop and the worker refused to let me in the door, claiming that I “don’t use their night gowns.” They sold sleeping gowns! There are a few good people, I just saw very few of them. Whenever I was talking to my friend who was one of them, in their language they would call me vulgar things and say to be “careful.” I was one of the more modest dressed of my own community. The only thing that I miss is the supermarket. Lots of options for people like me who fast throughout Lent.

Religious extremists should not be glorified, no matter what flavor of delusion they follow.

There’s a documentary about people who try to leave this community and how terribly they’re treated by their own friends and family.

The worst of all experience I have ever had in my life. I was there for 3 months to persue my bachelors degree and rented one of the place their as it was cheap of all and truly was my worse decisions.
These people see themselves as superior and are so intolerant, rude, overly poccessive that would make a random guy from new york look like an angel.
Neighbours were terrible as they spat whenever i leave my apartment, spied on me, even threw trash at one point. They didnt hesitate to threten me to leave the place.
Finally left that place that genuinely stink so bad and is so rotten to core with so many children as they are not allowed with dmartphones and are instructed to be mother at very young age.
