I moved to Sweden six months ago from the UK but using my Irish passport. It took about 6 weeks to get my personnummer and then another 4 weeks to get my bank account and Bank Id. I work in biotechnology (life science tech) so English is the working language but I am learning Swedish as I love it here and want to make it my home. We definitely need more people who know how to work in Grade A cleanrooms and/or know flow cytometry but there are so many EU applicants, and it's easier to hire EU nationals, that we either hire them or non-EU citizens who are already in Sweden with a visa.
If you are a non-EU citizen then I think you would have to be phenomenally talented for an employer to consider going to the trouble of arranging a visa for you. But who knows? Maybe you are. Follow your dreams. They might lead you to this beautiful country.

There’s a lot of talking about a job, but what if I want to make a business here, I mean a small business? For example in my country for 10 years I was a private piano tutor. I wasn’t affiliated with any school, it was just a private tutoring, plus I did a public lessons (for a fee) about music theory etc.

What if I want to do that in Sweden, is that possible?
