Since he doesn't want to name the brand, I'm going to. The most accessible round-bottom induction wok brand is Nuwave, at around $150 with discounts. This one uses a regular outlet at 120V. Some commercial options exist (240V), costing $300-$1000.

We’re currently remodeling our kitchen and now I want that outlet situation you’ve got going on there!!!! LOVE IT!!!

I appreciate that you call it a jet burner, because so many of the burners I see on youtube look like they used to belong to an F-14 and were surplus out.

Just a heads up, cast iron will leave a residue of carbon on the induction burner that's terribly difficult to remove. If you're careful, you can avoid damage from the weight of the wok but, that carbon layer affected my burner a lot.

Jon thanks for setting the record straight. The Nuwave induction wok is awesome. Mine is a daily used appliance and no stove cleanup as well! Cheers

*Revised, thanks @Yocray* Um... You could lay a silicone baking sheet, *wadded Aluminium foil*, or similar product over a flat hob to protect the glass; gives a bit of room for mistakes. *Silicone max temp is 450⁰F or 220⁰C*
It won't change the induction transfer much.
*Anything that's thin, non-magnetic, can take the temperature & can spread out impacts should work.*
*Aluminium does react to changing magnetic fields, but not with heat; it may or may not work*

I've continued to use my old round bottom walk on my flat induction cooktop.
It works just fine for practically any kind of cooking I do.
No plans to change it

I use a carbon steel flat bottom wok. I run the burner a little hotter so need to pretty much be continually stirring and ready to pull off the heat for 15 seconds or so. I find the cooler sides a benefit when I add eggs. I pour them onto the sides and they don’t overcook as easily. Nice tender egg in the mix.

Suggestion ... Use a silicon sushi rolling mat on top of your cooking element to prevent scratching the surface with the wok. I use mostly cast iron to cook with on my induction stove. Works GREAT and the stove top still looks brand new after 10 years.

Worked at an open kitchem that had induction wok burners. They were awesome tools.

Sometimes someone comes up with a design that is really well thought out. Thank for introducing me to the curved induction burner! Now I just need a bigger kitchen...
