You want to task Scar with an appropriate challenge to earn your spare core? The most obvious one would be make him earn it by by going back and lighting up at least 75% of his unintentional mob farms.

Hide the core in Scar's base and make him go on a scavenger hunt (scarvenger hunt?) To find it. Maybe even give some clues to other hermits and get them involved to make Scar fly all over the server only to find out his prize was hidden in plain sight all this time.

As someone who works in retail, the little room up front could be the overstock room (which is usually in the back but eh. This is minecraft. Do as you please.) And when things run low, the items will be easier and quicker to get to.
With the rose bushes, maybe replace them with a cool colored flower? Your shop has a lot of green and blue tones. The roses do pop out more since their red, which i think is a little nicer because of the contrast. But if thats not what you want, maybe lilacs or poenys? Since they're more of a purple-ly/pink color.

Get scar to build a custom tree in the new terraformed circle to possibly suit the garden you want to make, with a specific color palette. While wind charging him from afar .

Didn't Scar get his permit for All the Mobs? It might be interesting if Pearl asked him to help find something specific and then gave him the heavy core as payment. She could even tag along for bonus interaction time ^_^
