Do you always throw toilet rolls in the trash? - Here I show you why you shouldn't!

What do you do with your empty toilet rolls? Probably you always throw them away, right? But in this video, I'll show you why you shouldn't throw away toilet rolls and what you can do with them.

Because you can take them perfectly to get some order. Especially if you have a drawer where you keep a lot of old cables, you surely know the problem with cable clutter. Put the cables in the toilet paper rolls instead.

This way you have the cables directly in place and can put them back in the drawer, or even in a shoe box. This way you avoid cable clutter and have the right cable at hand much faster.

Try this trick with your toilet paper rolls but definitely once.

Stuff TP & Towel rolls with dryer lint and use as fireplace starters.

i use them in the garden....fill with potting mix, plant seed. When sprout is ready to put in garden, place the whole thing in the soil as the roll eventually composts down to become fertiliser and protects roots

My friends and I back in the 70s use to use them and a little aluminum foil to make a bong to smoke weed. Worked really good. Great memories.

I’ve been a sound engineer off and on for 40 years. I can say from experience, bending the cord that sharply wears down and eventually breaks the wires inside, rendering the cord useless.

I cover them with contact paper. I also use them when mailing a package. Light weight and fills space!

I use paper towel empty rolls to store cut out sewing pattern pieces. I write the pattern # and put a photocopy of the pattern picture on the roll too. Works quite well.

Rolls from cling wrap, foil etc can be used in the same way. Just cut the roll to required size. I recommend labelling every roll with black marking pen, which is thicker & easier to read than an ordinary pen. Cables without labels can waste a lot of time & be a pain in the neck.

This is a really old idea from the 70's. My mom read it in a women's magazine back then and we've used the rolls for kitchen appliance cords on counters. Sometimes covered in contact paper to look decorative.

Use empty disposable plastic water bottles to hold the leads too. Make sure they are labeled, and easier to find when looking for the right lead.

You missed a step. With a Magic Marker, I then label the purpose for the cord. The one I have in my kitchen drawer is labeled MIXER. For the really long cords, I use empty paper towel roll.👍

A very good tip and especially when one has a large family and lots of cables which could be color coded. Once all the cables are wound up in the toilet roll holders it would maybe be best to label the toilet roll with a marker pen to know what cable is what in the different toilet roll holders, etc.

I wrap mine in pretty paper, they keep my hair dryer, iron cords nice and neat, so many uses if it has a cord
