Hi, welcome to Speak Japanese Naturally!
I'm Fumi.

I'm walking around Yoyogi Park in Shibuya in Tokyo on November 26th.
The autumn leaves are still beautiful.

They say you can get the widest view of the sky in Tokyo in Yoyogi Park.
And the phrase "the widest view of the sky in Tokyo" reminded me of a poem,
あどけない空の話 An innocent story of the sky written by Kotaro Takamura(1883-1956)

Here's the whole poem

あどけない話
Innocent story

智恵子は東京に空がないといふ
Chieko says there’s no sky in Tokyo

ほんとの空が見たいといふ。
She says she wants to see the real sky

私は驚いて空を見る。
Which made me look up at the sky in surprise

桜若葉の間に在るのは、
What I can see between young sakura leaves is

切つても切れない むかしなじみのきれいな空だ。
The beautiful sky that I have been familiar with for a long time

どんよりけむる地平のぼかしは
The foggy horizon is unclear with

うすもも色の朝のしめりだ。
Pale pink moist morning

智恵子は遠くを見ながら言ふ。
Chieko looks far away and says

阿多多羅山(あたたらやま)の山の上に
Above the Atatara mountain

毎日出てゐる青い空が
The blue sky you see every day is

智恵子のほんとの空だといふ。
Her real sky, she says

あどけない空の話である
It is an innocent story of the sky

高村光太郎 1928年
Kotaro Takamura, 1928
————
「言う」=「言う」
「ゐる」=「いる」
These parts are written in an old Japanese style

I hope you'll enjoy this video.
Thank you for visiting.

I feel like this is the content we prefer to learn with.

just talk & chill about real things.

it's overloaded with long talks about how to use grammar & blabla otherwise, but having just this is way better once you are a bit beyond "N5"

context + subtitles = brilliant

Thank you for including the poem! I think reading poetry in the original is the ultimate reward of learning a new language so I was very happy to hear a native speaker reading and explaining a Japanese poem to me. A magical point in this video for me. I'll study harder.

Yours is a clever way to teach and, for non-native speakers, to learn Japanese. Thank you very much.

have female ginko trees in the part where I live in Germany as well and the fruits are really smelly. Oh, crows in Germany make "kräh kräh" 😉 Thank you for the kanji explanations, they were really helpful!

ふみ先生!These are my favorite videos of yours. I've missed our lessons, but plan on working my schedule out in the new year to start again. Also: I already knew of Yoyogi Park as it is in one of my favorite video games Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne!
