Install GNS3 VM v1.5.3 and IOU Images

The steps are the same! Didn't change anything!!

1) Download & Install VMware

2) Download GNS3 and VMware Image

3) Install GNS3

4) Extract and Import GNS3 VMware image to VMware Workstation

5) Run GNS3 VM

6) Start GNS3 application and connect to VMware

6) Import IOU Images from GNS3 Menu Interface (Not from web)

7) Download WinSCP and upload python script to generate license file

8) Look for stable images online :)

i got eth0 is not configured, please manually configure it via networking menu >>

For new IOS, IOU, ASAs, VIRL images for GNS3 check the Mega link in video description!
Recommendation: For Routing use standard IOS Images (Local or GNS3VM Server).
For Switching use Layer 2 or VIRL Images! (On GNS3VM Only!)
Best L2 Image for switching is

Hi, i wondering if its possible to connect other VM with IOU Router and switch ? I have a project, i need to make a Router (routing and dhcp) LDAP Server, Proxy Server, switch with vlan, and 3 client PC, can i build this network topology with GNS3 and VMWare ?

hi thanks for good work. I have ubuntu and gns3 a powerful machine. they suggest using VM machine with GNS 3. I have installed VM and can see it on my screen but on running gns3 it doesn't see the vm machine!? can you please advsie why? and why we need to have vm machine at all? adding vm machine take resources from the machine itself!?please advise so I can clear my mind and start practicing. thanks - Masood

Restart windows after vw ware installation very importan!!
this avoid the "eth0 interface is not configured" or "GNS#VM doesn't show any ip"
Notice: i'm installing all my apps on "D" drive!
you can install wherever you want or leave the default settings!

1 Download winSCP (freeware)

2 Use SFTP Protocol
3 Put GNS3VM IP
Username: gns3
Password: gns3

Generar licencia IOURC
1 Descargar winSCP (freeware)
2 Utilice el protocolo SFTP
3 Ponga GNS3VM IP
Nombre de usuario: gns3
Contraseña: gns3
