How's the battery life on this laptop? I've been eyeing Ryzen for a future upgrade, but it's hard to give up my current 8-10hrs of battery (on linux) on my 15" lenovo yoga (which is only dual core, though).

Maybe the dual channel configuration didn't make too big of a difference because of the deticated vram lock on 256mb.

my E485 with 2700u with single channel ram scores 606 on CB with the latest BIOS (1.45) from Lenovo. Battery life also so much improved.

I am shopping for a good laptop to install Linux. Should I get a Ryzen 7 2700U with Vega 10 ? If so, what brand ? I would like to be able to upgrade parts, and I heard Lenovo Ideapad solders the single-channel RAM and that ASUS solders the dual-channel RAM. Is that true ?

Edit: can you use the second USB type-C connector to connect a monitor while charging on the other one?
