We briefly motivate why you need to think about damping, we talk about the mathematical description of damped motion, we then physically motivate it by showing the forces that contribute towards energy loss, then we describe how the 4 types of damping come from the mathematical description.

Thanks for the video! Really helped. Just a little typo at the end where you forgot to square m in the rhs denominator when you described critical/over/under damping, might be worth putting a little annotation to clarify.
