The Original New York Slice: The Pizza Show

Показать описание
New York is the birthplace of many things, but for today's purposes, we're sticking to pizza. Frank starts with a quick history lesson from Scott Wiener, the owner of Scott's Pizza Tours. Then, we hit the streets to see and taste the history for ourselves. The best thing about the city's pizza scene is that it's relatively young, so you can still eat slices from the ovens of the people that started it all and put New York pizza on the map.

We meet the granddaughters of the man that literally brought pizza over from Naples, and even see the ovens that he used. Then, we hit all the best slices from Greenwich Village to Soho, and finish in Brooklyn at Luigi's Pizza, a place untouched by time.

God dammit its Scott Wiener again, last time I saw him he whipped out a pizza thermometer and said the pizza was too hot.

This is the most NY thing in the world, this whole video. Betweens the accents, the locations, the different attitudes each person had, and 24 minutes of pizza history. I love it haha

Scott looks like the type of guy that whips out a thermometer and asks a pizza to be well done instead of asking " I want a slice"

The owner of Luigi's has a terrific attitude. I wish to have a similar mindset about work.

I grew up on Luigi's pizza. I remember his son, who is interviewed, as a young gold chain wearing, Italian stud of the neighborhood. My friends and I had much respect for Mr. Luigi every time we went to his pizzeria. This show brought back awesome childhood memories.

I love this show. I’ve watched it many times. My 9 year old daughter and I have watched this at midnight when she couldn’t sleep and she came down stairs. We were craving pizza so hard that I made some make shift pizza with bagels, spaghetti sauce and cheese just to satiate that craving. It will forever be a moment in time that we will both cherish.

The production is top notch but Frank Pinello is what makes this show such a gem. He is so genuine and knowledgeable that you can’t help but be enthralled by the journey. Thank you for all that had a hand in making this.

Dam, "I dont work, I come here to hang out!" Brought a tear to my eye... my first job was like that, made great friends and finally came out of my awkwardness... can only dream of finding a job like that again

Mark Iacono is a pizza god amongst men. He opens a pizza shop with zero experience and is at the top of his game in a city of hall of famers

Great host. Knows when to talk but more importantly knows when to listen.

The last guy he interviewed was the best. You can tell he's really passionate.
