Some people buying Ford Fiesta, and complaining that it’s not driving like Ford Mustang. Food for thoughts.

Let's compare a $799 drone to a $1499 drone and nit pick why it's not as good. Cost me $9 to mount an ipad mini, common.

disagree about portability and design. love the look of this drone and the controller. and i think it is the perfect mix of size and stability in the air. if you made it smaller, it wouldn't be as stable in the air, and that would be then listed as a con!! who the hell is walking around with a drone in their pocket. if you need to take in on a plane travelling, the soft case that comes with the combo is pretty dam small!! ;)

Many of your gripes are a cost issues, to meet their target selling price. More features simply cost more. The Fly app will decode H.265 transmissions in OcuSync2 from the MA2. The Go4 app will only decode H.264 transmissions from the M2 Ocusync2, which by the way is a different OcuSync using different encoding. I believe that's the main issue of having two apps, because of the different decoding needed. My gripe is when they used better H.265 transmission technology, they should have named it OcuSync 3, because it's different. This explains the MA2 incompatibility with DJI goggles and the Smart controller. I expect firmware upgrades may be coming to resolve those incompatibilities, but not sure. Historically, DJI has always released products with bugs, or shortcomings, but seem to do a good job of fixing them after about 6mos of shipping product. By the way, the range performance is due to broadcast power limitations that DJI implements, it's their decision for the range they want to support. It's positioning tactics for that model. Same for the iPad issue you mention, positioning, but I agree, the iPad mini should be the target display goal.

As you say all in all the MA2 is a great drone for the price but here are some ADDITIONAL things DJI should fix' in the MA2 overtime:

1) DJI Fly app's white lettering (e.g., battery %) in the GUI is unreadable on a bright or even cloudy day.
2) No way to adjust Gimbal speed;/sensitivity;
3) No waypoints capability;
4) Hyperlapse 8K doesn't work in anything but the calmest of conditions;
BTW I agree with you about Battery life claims...and this goes for all Quad vendors. I would suggest that all vendors use hover time as the basis for battery life claims. While hover time doesn't represent what you will actually see in real flight at least it represents something that a consumer can fairly easily replicate themselves and is closer to reality of what a consumer might see when flying "conservatively" on calm days. If DJI used hover time as the basis for battery life then the MA2 battery life would have been 30 minutes not 34 minutes..and that is at least more realistic. No one is getting anything close to 34 minutes (even when flying the battery down to destructively low levels) but lots of people are able to prove that they can get 28-29 minutes. I like accountability....And yes I understand that the hover time is less efficient then flying forward at VERY slow speeds ....but flying forward at very slow speeds for 30+ minutes is VERY difficult for the average consumer to replicate...and as a result consumers can't confirm the vendors battery life claims...without some way to replicate and prove the vendors claims it opens the door for vendors to make any claim they want about battery life....they can always say 'well we got X minutes under our special flying conditions'. I'm jussayin....

Some part i agree, if you want light, go for mini. For most user this wil be a perfect drone. To light, less speed and stability. About range, i think you must have been interfeared by signal or line of sight, based on altitude.

thanks for your video but I believe no drone company will ever be perfect or get it all right intentionally for the simple reason that they also have to compete with themselves to attract customers!

It’s funny you mentioned the DJI Fly app as a pro in your other video, but mentioned it as a con in this one 🤷 lol

Thanks for your honesty, I'm sick of watching mavic air 2 videos where all they do is talk about the positives, I know some of these people get given these drones for free and are a Bliged to say good things, I'm not saying that the mavic air 2 is a bad drone but for people like me that want to know the good, bad and ugly on these products so we can make better decisions on our purchases. thanks again

I agree with some of the issues but in my opinion it still a good buy and your issues is certainly not a deal breaker for me😁

You MISSED a HUGE problem that DJI could easily fix. It is the Annoying BEEPER on the controller. Operated the MA2 for 2 years now and it hasn't been mentioned to fix it. All I want is an option to turn it off, or beeb once then be able to silence it. Its so loud and annoying it can actually distract the operator in a bad way turning the flight into a dangerous situation.
