2:09 I have a "smart meter" and when I lost power I had to call the power company to tell them. I asked if they could remotely tell the power was out and they said if a technician came and examined the meter he could send something, but it's a long process. I still had to answer a bunch of their questions and they were clueless about how the power worked.

2:22 This "smart grid" sounds horrible. Does that mean the power company can shut down your oven or AC if they think you've used more than your "fair share" of power? Doesn't it bother anyone else that they can remotely shut down an appliance in your home?

Not sure I quite understand what you mean. Do you mean that if you move the first electron in the line the last will be able to move without having to go through the chain reaction of one electron moving the next the whole way through the line?

Something about the idea of people at the power company being able to turn off individual appliances in my home doesn't sit right with me. This whole system seems ripe for abuse. On several different levels.

Do you feel ill when you're near cell phones, fluorescent lights, wi-fi, computers, televisions, or "Smart Meters" for electricity/gas? If so, you may have "electrical sensitivity". This Video neglects to Mention smart grid Problems in that PG&E (California) as of November 2011 have a new ruling from the CPUC Called "Radio Off" as people in 0ver 47 counties were effected by the 900Mhz transmissions from the Smart Meters, , ,

 we will use two way energy dialog instead of one, , , and wireless modules, BW customers and utility, , , It seems that we could utilize much of power grid's delivery infrastructure by installing Windbelt's flutter technology, , , using the towers that carry the electricity, , , but it is changing whole infrastructure with way additional cost does it worth it!!! i really can't see that big effect that we gonna notice.

The normal power grid has to be overlayered with HVDC. Because Wind Energy is best @ coasts and solar best @ deserts....
If you overlayer the whole world with big HVDC lines you do not even need energy storage anymore... Because there is always somewhere wind or the sun...
