Hey guys, i hope you guys could get the UE5 editor to run faster. If you did, a like definitely motivates me to make more Unreal Engine 5 content.

Guys if you still want more performance, you can change the anti aliasing mode to MSAA or FXAA. TemporalAA looks good but cuts down your frame rate.

Thanks! Just changing the Shadow Map Method from Virtual(Beta) to Shadow Map bumped my FPS from 15 to 75+ FPS

Basically,
- "Shadow Map Method" -> "Shadow Maps"
-"Global Dynamic Illumination" -> None

dude I love you. I had this problem, it was freezing a lot, the screen was slow, it was only good when I put it in wireframe or unlit mode

Thanks so much! I’m running UE5 on a laptop and I went from 5fps to 20fps after watching this!

I just figured out in UE5 about the frame drop problem, if you give it some time it should go back to normal. I think its compiling something in the background and just doesn't show a message on screen. I was getting 20 fps and just let it sit like that and eventually went up to 80 and the shadows looked better. Bad thing is you have to do it everytime you start the engine. Hopefully that's fixed on full release.

blank project in ue4: 146 fps
blank project in ue5: 34 fps
both have settings put on high

its funny how people don't turn off the ray tracing sometimes, that might be helpful too there is also a default ray tracing option in default project settings just type ray tracing and disable them all for better performance

since what it does is virtualize the polygons in 3Dscopic information just like zbrus does more or less

I have a question, if we bring the graphics to low and make the game, will it remain a low quality game when the game is finished or will it be a high graphics game? I would appreciate your answer.

Are there any external factors that play a role as well? I just wonder cus my PC is quite good, RTX3060ti, 64gb ram, Ryzen 7, ssd drives... Still my unreal projects are painfully sluggish. Even with an empty scene.
It's driving me insane!
I already checked driver's update, windows updates, reinstalled epic launcher and unreal completely.
Anyone had an issue like that?

Hey, so does the effect stay in the the editor only?

Or will the final packaged game look awful as well?

so the upcoming game The witcher , Mafia 4, Tomb-rider will be good to go with low gpu's such as gtx 1650 super , Gtx 1660 super !
