It's downright impossible for China or the United States to win enough medals to win the medals per capita category. Also with the athletes per country restriction it's also impossible for them to catch up as well. There was a YouTuber who basically did an impressiveness score which I think highlights which countries did the most impressive job relative to their population and GDP.

You say other countries might have won based on other *metrics?* THATS WHY WE USE *IMPERIAL* 🦅🦅🦅🦅🔥🔥🔥🔥🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Per capita doesn’t quite make sense because of the insane size of some populations. The US and China would need thousands of metals if you use per capita.

Per capita is literally the copium argument. Think, not every member of the population of a country is an athlete who competes. US and China are still producing the best athletes. And that's the people who actually matter, the athletes.

The US is #34 and China is #51 out of 63 for gold medals per capita.

If we're talking per capita, China is no longer in the competition. The US has less than 1/3 of the population of China. The US tied for golds, and won both silver and bronze.

Probably because there’s a cap on athletes?

The best way I saw was to assign each medal a point value gold(4) silver(2) bronze(1)

Wtf is per capita? I'm not from America and I think their country is a mess with the current election but even I think this is dumb. America, whether they have 300 million, 1 billion or 10 millions people it doesn't matter. They won the most medals. Solid and simple. If you're arguement that they have advantage in numbers, tell that to India.

Don’t like to be a smartass but Dominica is pronounced do-MI-ni-kah, not do-mi-NEE-kah. Just to let you know

Well it's a good thing literally no one counts these things in per capita.

America won the PARIS'24 Olympics because they have the most total medals in that event.

Read off the different sports/events that China and USA got their gold medals. Then name the athletes who received those medals.

Also unlike most countries in your top per capita list, the USA doesn’t have government funded training. Most of the training is private or comes from the Universities.

Always context!!!
