Ours just snapped and I’m gonna try it. Lowe’s didn’t have the replacement screen so I’ll order a new one if it doesn’t work.

Will this help if the screen won't go up at all? We have the mid one and when I went to slide up the top window it felt tight and the screen will not roll up at all. Just bunches up.

I did everything like you say but the screen dosn't roll up like it used to. Noe its like a widow shade that keeps latching part way up and almost impossible to roll up all the way up. btw it seems like its to tight, like its a tiny bit to long and pressing on the door frame.

Hey, i twisted it to build tension back but as soon as i undid my vice grips it unspooled. How do I keep the tension held while putting the screen back in?

What’s the difference between the Larson Tradeswinds retractable screen and the Larson Lakeview retractable screen ? Thanks

Should that spring come apart? Larson sent a replacement b/c their old one snapped, and the spring end came out of the rest when I opened the package. Not sure if it came broken, or something I can work with. Thanks!

We've had this door 20 years now. It doesn't have a model number on it so whenever I have to call, Larson gives me a hassle. They insist it must be there. It's old and doesn't fit what you say it should have. Anyhoo, I have a love hate relationship with it. This screen is forever coming out of the channel. Luckily, we live in Florida so I can leave the screen down. But with hurricanes, I'd like to close it. We've replaced the cartridge once and it never did work right. Thank goodness for your instructions!

So I replaced the screen. Got it tighten again. Installed it. Now the spring won't unlock. What am I missing?

I understand that the spring needs to be rotated clockwise- but after a couple of turns it springs back - am I missing something?

If your screen has been over extended, could you take it out and try this?

You won't believe what I did an hour ago? Got up to hit 2 large Flys on my Larson 36" Mid door roll up screen, well I blasted the two Flys, killed one the other flew away but I stretched the screen so bad the right side won't stay in the track or edge. And it's not tight it flops around even though the left side is perfect.
