Wow! that is going to be the killer feature for Nomad on a bare metal install! This 2021 had a good start from this side of the FOSS world!
If other OS like Ghost (I hope on this) adopts this system to install widevine on a BSD so easy is going to catch many power/casual users which love use Netflix/Prime/Spotify and so on...

My thoughts GUIs: as a user which tries a lot of OS, sometimes have a tidy DE with interesting customization may convince me to stop hopping to the next one and stay for a while and enjoy the entire work, like feeling home.
On Nomad I found that devs have done a great work on details, first a live userland essential but not too much, then on customizing openbox not too much nor too little, just to don't seems a basic install of it, now with this RC I see improvements on small things that let me appreciate more all work. Seems a little thing, but many users with less experience value first the GUI before the userland, and Nomad has these IMHO.
Ghost comes with a great userland, an easyest update/upgrade tool which every newbie going to find comfortable in use, but a basic GUI (both xfce and mate) out of the box that will force everyone to spend time on improve the global experience... maybe Ghost should learn a bit from Nomad on this? I think yes...
It's only an opinion with an eye on a newbie prospective :D

I installed version 1.4 and i'm using it since april 2 2021. System work smoothly and i'm able to do all that i was able to do with Linux. So i'm very happy to be a FreeBSD user. Thank you.

I am downloading now. The only FreeBSD version I like so far is pfsense for my Virtual routers

Good review. Thanks for taking the time to make it. Yes, if the Linux browser feature would work and be turned into a port/package that would be great.

I have this old Dell laptop with broadcom wifi. On every Linux distro [Debian/Ubuntu, Arch] it works fine on Live USB/CD version but once I install it on hdd, I have to manually install the driver.
NomadBSD was the first system, everything worked just fine.
As added bonus, it has keyboard layout switcher out of the box. And keyboard config has 'additional layouts' option.
Also screen resolution seems to work [actually writes the changes in to startup] - many openbox linux distros fail at that.
Only problem I had was with touchpad. Double click does not work, nor does scrolling feature.
I found some hack - assigning button to touchpad but then my button does not work [rc.conf moused_flags="-m 1=4"]

In my opinion, NomadBSD is the best of the "small" / Live FreeBSDs. Only thing I don't like is the fact it is based on ports for software.

Hi
I installed nomadbsd. Yes I agree very easy install. As you know I am testing freebsd. Yes it's on a 32 bit PC. Having tested arch and debian distros as well as freebsd distros I have concern. Every freebsd on install does not recognise the video card . It install from start up script as no monitor found.
This is unique to freebsd. The other debian and arch do not.
I am interested to hear if anyone has found the same issue.
