Some men develop an enlarged prostate as they age, a condition that’s known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). An enlarged prostate can put pressure on the urethra, prompting a variety of uncomfortable symptoms. Fortunately there are plenty of cutting-edge and minimally-invasive technologies that help address BPH, like Rezum™ water vapor therapy.

Rezum™ is an natural approach to treating BPH that utilizes water vapor. With an advanced delivery technology, vapor is released into the prostate tissue that is causing the blockage. Once the vapor contacts the problem spot, it turns back into water and releases stored energy into prostate cells. This clears up the excess prostate tissue and restores the flow of the urethra.

In addition to being all-natural, Rezum™ doesn’t use implants, can treat a range of prostate sizes and configurations, and does not cause any new onset, sustained ED or ejaculatory dysfunction.

Find more information on the procedure at our website:

At Austin Urology Institute, we’re committed to having the newest and most effective treatments for all urologic conditions and we’re pleased to offer Rezum™. Dr. Lawrence Tsai, a board-certified urologist, explains more about the procedure. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from University of Texas, he earned his medical doctorate at Texas A&M College of Medicine and completed his Urology residency at Baylor Scott and White.

i had it done 3 weeks ago. The procedure is very painful. very painful. I was not able to pee before, with prostate of 93 g, after 2 weeks of catheter , I am able to pee again, still a little bit of bloody urine sometimes, but it is a life-changer.

I had this done. It is a horrible, brutal procedure. “ Water vapor “ sounds innocent. Change the term to “live steam will be injected into your prostate while you are fully awake.” The pain was off the charts. Your life will be miserable for the next few months as your body rids itself of necrotic tissue. The best part is wearing a catheter for a week afterward. Two years later and no improvement in symptoms. They tell you there are no long term results for success in improved symptoms. Read the comments posted by patients that had the Rezum. Then you decide.
