If you can, live with your parents. Saves a lot of money from utilities and food to rent.

Pretend you’re 100k in debt and any money you make you put it towards your “debt”. I have a sense of urgency when I think of it as debt.

I took care of my best friends elderly dad after he was murdered at 17 and I was 18 at the time. His dad was already 70. He had nobody except his son. So I started taking care of him and anything he needed. He eventually passed away and I got the house and all the life insurance money. It's fucked up honestly because I didn't deserve any of it but I got a paid off house, a couple of cars and 40 grand. Paid off my car and sold his then sold the house for over 600 grand. I bought a smaller nicer house and invested/saved the rest. I am grateful everyday and miss my friend and his father everyday. They were good people. I ended up burying both of their ashes together along with the ashes of my friends mom. I didnt know what to do with their remains so thought that was the best option instead of throwing them away. I also still have all of their important stuff including family photos. Not sure what I'm gonna do with it all but it doesnt deserve to be in the garbage. Sad how life turns out sometimes.

A lot of these just sound like "Have rich parents then live like you're poor when you've never actually been poor." I've done all of this stuff. I opened a bank account before I graduated high school, deposited every pay check I got, never spent any money as I was trying to save up to buy a house. Live with my parents. I had worked out that it would take me 7 years just to buy a small single bedroom, single bathroom trailer... 7 years later and I got depressed when I realized that inflation happens faster than my pay check can keep up. Would be another 3 years before I could afford to move out. Technically I could have moved out on what I had already saved up... but I'd have to move to a different state where I don't know anyone and would have little to no job opportunities in my chosen field... So yeah... saving up money when you can't just inherent a fortune from your rich parents is actually pretty impossible.

I actually just looked it up and the cheapest house for sale right now is $45, 000 for an old beat up trailer that looks like it should be condemned and I'd still be $28, 000 short of that goal had I continued to save the money. By the way... I'd also like to point out how we're paying MORE to get LESS these days cause for that place looks like it wouldn't even be worth that price when it was new let alone paying that price for the condition it's in now.

Honestly if I knew then what I know now, I would of started working and saving pay checks when I was 11.

No one will help you except that man in the mirror? So... is that Candyman, Bloody Mary, or Michael Jackson?

$15 on a burger but not $40 on a steak. What burgers are you getting?

I understand the concept of saving money. However I wanted and still want to enjoy my life. My income level is considered below poverty. I have and have had the attitude of living today because we're not guaranteed tomorrow since my early 20s. I lost a few friends and it gave me a few hangups about the future because they were planning for theirs so well. Then boom. Gone.

I simply didn’t buy unnecessary things. I didn’t try to buy every nice thing out there. I bought cheap 1 dollar freezer foods. I bought clothes at the thrift store $5 a bag of clothes.

I went for cheaper places to live, $300-500 a month. My hobbies were mostly free of charge things. Rarely did I buy video games.

Get someone to live with you and share rent. It’s super easy to save up money if you don’t waste it on cigarettes, alcohol, nice clothes, expensive foods, or constantly buying new games.

I wish I could save a decent save of my paycheck, but my car is extremely unreliable (Pontiac Sunfire), but I have more money than my mother thinks I have. I just pretend I have < $200 and I only contribute for water and electricity. I don't have much (only 4 digits) but still it's a steady save

People don’t often want to hear the hard truths. Most people are perfectly capable of getting to 100k, early in life…A million even.
They just want to ability to flash it, they don’t really want to work for it.
If you are 18, and have no problems with the law, no health issues, etc.
There’s no reason you can’t be at well over 100k by 30…

Dude with truck. Get a slightly newer car. It would (hopefully) get better gas mileage.
