Well all light in minecraft is white light which is brighter than red light, and the terarria campfire is usually a red color,

Minecraft because the 3d plane is more volume for the light to fill

Considering a terraria campfires are 6 ft wide which is about 2 meters and minecraft campfires are 1x1 meters, the terraria campfire has an unfair advantage. If you tried to do it in minecraft with a 2x2 campfire it would be roughly equal aswell.
