SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk remains focused on his vision for the company: Establishing a permanent human presence on Mars, with its Starship rockets carrying people to and from the red planet. The tech mogul has had a longstanding goal of settling humans on Mars, a dream which he intends to bring to reality in just a few decades from now. As a step towards manifesting this dream, his company SpaceX is finally set to launch its Starship rocket for its first-ever orbit flight to Mars in 2022. But surely, settling on the red planet will come with it's own set of fundamental limitations and setbacks.
What do you think? Will humans ever actually colonise Mars?

So in other words, it’s more likely for a fish to survive in the sahara desert than it is for a human to survive on mars

Some of Saturns moons are more habitable than mars right now

I love how people are trying to fix these problems on mars like we dont already have enough problems on earth 💀

I've seen them land on the moon, I'd be completely amazed if they land on Mars. All the best, I'd love to see that before I go.

“Good luck Elon Musk” I was about to say this when you said “ all the best Elon Musk” I cried laughing 😝

Current studies suggest that perhaps mars has more of a magnetosphere than previously thought. As an aurora borealis has been spotted in the martian atmosphere suggesting a more dense magnetic field.

It’s smarter to settle the moon first. Then launch everything from the moon.

Problems with this video:
1. The mars trip may take 7-9 months to get there but it’s not a big issue by the fact the longest anyone has ever been in a 0G environment was 437 days with no side effects documented. Named Valeri Polyakov.
2. The average temp on mars isn’t much different from the moon, ranging as cold as -298 degrees Fahrenheit on the moon, we’ve been there.
3. Supplies can be taken with, the size of the starship allows for a lot of cargo to be taken with (150 tonnes of cargo) over 30, 000 pounds more than the Saturn V rocket.
4. New technologies allow for Oxygen to be made from the Martian Carbon Dioxide atmosphere (called MOXIE).
5. Musk has already stated that a refueling ship will dock with the Starship when in orbit around the Earth to refuel. This will give them enough fuel to get to mars and to get off of mars.

The only credible point in this short is the high radiation. It’ll be a problem. But next time do some research about this. A lot of intelligent minds go into the research and innovations at SpaceX and I’m pretty sure they know a little bit more about space than you do.

You can launch another spaceship to Mars around a few weeks apart to help refuel, and eventually use the refueling spaceship as parts for the colony.

It’s like how Spirit and Opportunity were launched to Mars around the same time but a few weeks apart.

It's challenges like mars that make the human species unique.... What is life all about without alittle adventure and thrill

I love how they just say “oxygen” without having to say anything else😂💀

One: We can't afford it because we have to wage wars against each other.

Mars has water and it may be possible some organisms could grow on Mars soil

they left Mars to go to earth, now we are going back?

I feel like the human race just skyrocketed after we figured out how to lift things off the ground, because the probably biggest technological advancement from 1500-1900 was probably slightly better boats and guns, but like 70 years after we manage to lift something off the ground, we are on the moon

I know really random

It'll happen. Elon knows what he's doing.

A thousand years ago, travelling to the moon was an impossibility. We can only support the genius that is Elon Musk.
