Possible History is Garbage

I'm sure you are all well aware with the YouTuber Possible History, a Dutch Alternate Historian who's seen abnormal levels of growth recently. Well, not too long ago, I saw that, in a recent video he made with several of his YouTuber friends, Possible History insulted a map and a scenario I made, while neglecting many of his own faults as well. So, this video should help shed a light on this whole scenario, and go to show what kind of YouTuber Possible History really is. Enjoy!

I will state my case here:

I never intended to cause drama, and hope it ends so we can all move on in the community.

I apologize to Josh for not crediting him and under-explaining the scenario. I did not realize he made the scenario, as it was released on Monsieur Z's channel. I also did not have the time to explain the full context. We were poking fun a little bit, but we did that to the other maps as well, including some by myself. I apologize for any offensive, none was meant. Also, if anyone wants to attack/criticize my content: Feel free to, I make plenty of mistakes. In the same vein, I also apologize for any comments on my discord. They were made callously, thinking they would never be seen by others in the "privacy" of my own discord server. My comment regarding Josh' growth being attributed to Monsieur Z was out of line, and downplays the great effort and videos made by Josh. While criticism should always be fine, I do not want to insult other creators, and will make sure I am more sensitive in the future.

But the continuation of Josh's video beyond the first point were wrong, and far outside of the scope that the drama needs to be. He doesn't like my content, that is fine, he absolutely doesn't have to. But me, Monsieur Z and him all make both realistic and unrealistic alternate histories, and that is great! Maybe I lean more towards the unrealistic side recently, but that is my creative choice. There is no reason to bash me for it this hard. Especially since the criticisms made towards me were not always correct. Josh states the "Viewers voted" videos are somehow videos made by my viewers. This is not the case. I am involved 100% in the creation of the video from beginning to end. All the viewers do is respond to a poll I create on the matter. My videos may be considered junk food due to the low production quality, but that is simply due to my incompetence: I never had any experience making videos, and am literally learning on the job as I go here.

Regarding the final point, I am mostly a-political. I disagree with both extremes, and absolutely do not have an agenda while making my videos. I am not part of a larger leftist plot to take over alternate history. Regardless of political affiliation, anyone should be free to create alternate history video - and its up to the community to pick their favorites. I ask for all history channels to leave this behind, and each move on creating our own content as we see fit.

As a person who participated in the quiz show, I want to say something.

I feel like this is an honest mistake by Possible History not knowing the map was made by you. We weren't mocking it or making fun of it, we were just very surprised. The livestream is public, which I assume you have seen. The reason why we appeared like we were mocking it, is because we were trying to figure it out, and were surprised when the answer was revealed. Then I must say that the stream was a charity stream, where we raised 1000+ GBP. We were trying to be funny, no offence was meant towards anybody. You should hear the jokes I made towards Possible History, if they are taken out of context, it would look like I hate this guy, this is simply not the case.

Regarding "Junk History" if you don't like Possible History's channel, you will for sure hate my own, as I make even less realistic scenarios. My twist on history is to just make cool scenarios, like Napoleon III betting the entire nation of France on a casino game in Monaco, and losing, resulting in Monaco annexing France. If to you it's cheap garbage, so be it, I really like doing what I do, and I have gained a substantial following doing so. There is a large portion of the history community, that is not so interested in 100% realistic alternate history. People just want to have fun.

I have had the pleasure to chat with Possible History on discord many times, and participate in his videos. He is genuinely a good person, which you rarely see a big creator online be. I don't think he is promoting any ideology or stuff like that, he is just being himself. Never have I ever talked to him about politics, ideology, or had debated on who is right or wrong, NEVER.

Well, I think that there is merit to both sides here, as it was wrong of Possible History to have not credited Josh and give a poor review of his scenario, yet I don't think that Possible History's style of videos automatically make him a bad Youtuber. After all, there's nothing wrong with making non-serious alternate history scenarios, as every Youtuber is different. And I don't want an 'Althistory Community Civil War' to break out here.
I'm a fan of Emperortigerstar, Possible History, Rewriting History, Alternatehistoryhub, Whatifalthist (although he unfortunately doesn't really do alternate history videos anymore), Josh and Monsieur Z. Politically I'd say that I'm most aligned with the latter two, but I don't like the others any less. Alternate History shouldn't be political; it should be able to be enjoyed by people from across the political compass. And different alternate history youtubers can have different approaches to history, as hearing from different perspectives helps us learn and be more open minded.
I hope that this can soon be resolved, and that Possible History and Josh can put this behind them, and maybe even collab one day.

Sorry Jake Sullivan, I was hoping that this video would be satire.

The fact that PH made fun of a map that he nor the people on the stream had little knowledge of nor any real context of(the map does look silly without a lot of context) should not have warranted these insults towards PH for being “a big YouTuber that only cares about views” and for his political beliefs.

people are allowed to map for fun? like not everything has to be educational or realistic and you should be allowed to make whatever videos you want. tbh beef in alternate history mapping is the same as arguing over a romantic relationship in a series which will never happen, theres no point to it and it makes everyone involved looks stupid
